William Pisarri: RIP

(Amended May 19, 2007.)

Dreadful news received early this morning: William Pisarri, the Chicago-based filmmaker and musician, died on the 16th of May. The victim of an apparent heart attack, Bill was only 35 years of age... An extraordinarily talented, relentlessly positive, endlessly generous artist, conversant in both film production and high-wire audio mangling, Mr. Pisarri was nothing less than a full-on destruction engine. A member of the sterling mid-90s edition of the Flying Luttenbachers, Bill was involved in all manner of projects within and peripheral to the Chi-Town neo-no wave community of the 90s, including our short-lived Miss High Heel cabal. God knows what else he was involved with - his energies seemed inexhaustible.

Details on his untimely demise are still a little sketchy; we'll post more info as soon as we have it.

Needless to say, the news comes as a dreadful shock... Our condolences go out to his family and global network of friends, fans, and well-wishers.

I last saw him after a TLASILA set at a Toronto club last September. He bounded to the stage after our performance, and greeted us with his usual high energy and crazed enthusiasm...

Such a damned shame that he's gone.

Rest in Peace, friend.
