WWII veteran Nazi interrogators denounced Bush’s Torture techniques...

Not the best constructed sentence I've seen this morning - it gives one the impression that ex-Nazi inquisitors are castigating the Bush administration for bungling the old third degree.

But, no, despite the introductory obfuscation, this is one news item that makes an enormous amount of common sense. Try to drown this testimony in the ice-cold waterboarding trough:

“We got more information out of a German general with a game of chess or Ping-Pong with than they do today, with their torture,” said Henry Kolm, 90, an MIT physicist who had been assigned to play chess in Germany Hitler’s deputy, Rudolf Hess."

Read the article, and weep for this enfeebled age.

Not that they're paying much attention to freaks like us, but we nonetheless send a long-distance tip o' our
vintage commemorative Allende inauguration bowler to the stalwarts at C&L...
