Toulouse Arrival: Pix

A perfect day. Lovers descended on the square, drivers cruised in endless circles around the cafes and shops, an African youth choir sang to an appreciative, ever-increasing throng only 100 meters from our perch, and all the while your suave correspondent sat with a jacket over his head, shielding his laptop's screen from the blinding sun as we sought more accurate directions to Lieu-Commun.

As our hosts arrived, I realized that although we'd lost the Kangoo, we'd gained a measure of freedom. Far better to travel Europe by rail than by car.

Anxieties began to dissipate...

Getaria / San Sebastian: Farewell Pix...

(Captions to follow...)

Getaria Gaztetxe Pix...

We've only a fistful of photos from the evening of the Gaztexe performance. Below you'll find a smattering from the sound check, others taken during our reconnaissance missions to Yglesia de San Salvador (the only location near the venue where we were able to poach a wi-fi signal), a portrait of the first, eclectically shod stragglers inside the club, and visual confirmation of typical post-performance hubris. Our manias were always short-lived.

(One hell of a bar menu - Catalan is one of my new favorite languages. Click above for a larger version of the image...)
