Mutter vs. Mutter...

We've just returned from TAK (around the corner from our flat) where we saw the final show of Ars Vitalis' weekend stand. Falling somewhere between Zorn's Cobra and the absurdism of Schimpfluch (if the latter were grounded in traditional theatre), the Berliner trio were very impressive. The audience of "'68ers" (liberal squares) was slow to respond, but Claudia was giggling from the onset, and your correspondent, still quite the illiterate auf Deutsch, was agog. A great night out...

And Starring Michael Dudikoff as Arto Lindsay...

Hannover's diverse cinéaste community often converges at Kino im Künstlerhaus...

(CP, one hour prior to departure.)

(A fortuitous juxtaposition.)

(The Kino im Künstlerhaus lobby, just before the evening's patrons filtered in...)

(American silents are screened on the far wall as customers queue for beer and wine. Not a big popcorn crowd this evening...)

(Coming attractions.)

(And the film we went to see, Ken Loach's 2007 globalization allegory It's a Free World... Depressing as fuck, and not terribly subtle, as per Loach's aesthetic bent, but otherwise quite good, often outstanding...)
