Ausfahrt auf den nächsten Zug...

Guten Abend,

Just watched Inglourious Basterds.

Worked all week like a bloody dog. (Albeit one who teaches English within cozy confines.)

CP and I are moving to a new flat tomorrow.

And...

The first of two new flotillas of Karl Schmidt Verlag releases will hit the post...

(L to R, clockwise: KSV 036 Maude - York Year of Critical Will; KSV 017 Female Reggae Showcase - Ascendance Surged Red (Distorted in Hegel); and KSV 037 Alpha 66 - Pax Sovietica.)

Sleep well,

MORNING said…
hello Tom,

my name's Iker Spozio and i'm writing you from spain. i'm half italian, half spanish (and i usually live in paris, france. what a mess, isn't it?!?...).
sorry for my far from perfect english, and sorry for writing you through your blog. i hope you don't mind it...

in order to introduce myself a little bit, i'm an illustrator (all handmade stuff, no computer) working basically in the indie/alternative music field. needless to say, i'm a devoted music fan. i'm mostly into sixties and early seventies stuff, but in the last few years i've more and more digged into the (seemingly endless) field of late seventies/early eighties music: minimal synth, experimental post-punk, ...
i recently discovered the xex album, and it was love at first listen. that brought me to a research in the internet for any available info on the band and "found" you thanks to mike appelstein's stunning article/interview (i wrote him too).

i run a magazine (in english), called Morning and devoted to the music i love, that is "cult" artists, mostly from the sixties, featuring exclusive interviews and my illustrations to go along with them. i do everything myself (with the kind help of my girlfriend who lived for years in the u.k. and speaks perfect english... she does my proof-reading!), and the magazine is as beautiful as possible. 130 copies of each issue are printed only, all numbered, and my aim is to try and cover the expenses and keep on publishing it. no commercial aim, really...
i published the first issue (now sold out) some months ago, and the second one will be out next month.
i would really love to run an interview with Waw Pierogi and was wondering if you'd be so kind to redirect me to him. do you happen to have his e-mail add?... i would truly appreciate any help you could provide. if you prefer not to put me directly in touch with him, i would appreciate if you could please let him know about myself and my project and see if he'd be willing to be interviewed for my mag.

if you'd like to know a little bit more about myself and the mag, here go a few links:

well, Tom, i think that's all. thank you so much for your kind attention. i'm really looking forward to hearing back from you.
all best wishes,
-i. x
