Another Farewell...
Requiescat in pace: Adrienne Rich.
A fiery poet, contentious, possessed, brilliant, powerful. I sometimes found her exasperating, which is male-sprecht for "she pushed the buttons that most needed to be pushed." I name-checked her in "Mizrahi Speculum," a song from To Live and Shave in L.A.'s second album, "Helen Butte" vs. Masonna Pussy Badsmell," and quoted her signature work, Diving Into the Wreck, in its chorus. With posthumous apologies - and great thanks - to a true titan of the arts...
